Anti Candida Diet Strategies

When we are on an anti candida diet the last thing that we want to reckon about is socialising.
The anti Candida diet is really hard in the first few weeks, so here is a quick guide to help you deal with the social challenges that you will face.

Tip 1 – Slowly does it;
Stage one can be terrifying for many of us, so what we usually do is to just cut out all sugars for a week. Then we stop the starchy stuff and gluten, and so on until we have eliminated all the foods that we need to. From there we start to count out our four week elimination diet and in no time we are re-introduciong foods again!

Tip 2 – Look at what you can eat;
Changing your focus from what you can’t have to what you can have on an anti Candida diet is a fantastic way to see your food in a whole new light. It is incredible the variety of tastes that you can get from a stir fry or salad just by adding a different vegetable or herb.

Tip 3 – Don’t be too critical;
Cheating aside, at some point while on an anti Candida diet you will probably be offered something that you are not allowed. If you can not refuse it without offending someone or hurting their feelings then I suggest you eat it and delight in. One relapse is not going to undo all your excellent work!

Tip 4 – Bring your own;
When visiting friends, bring your own snack offering – hummus and crackers go down a treat with everybody! You will probably find that your friends are relieved because they don’t want to offend you by offering food that you can’t eat – so it’s a win win for all!

Tip 5 – Finger food at parties;
If you are invited to a party, make sure that you have a large meal before you go, that way you will be able to ignore the finger food on offer.

Tip 6 – Going out to dinner;
If you are questioned out to dinner, find out about about the style of restaurant you will be going to. Most dining places these days have a salad option or if not, then relax, go with the flow, delight in yourself and deal with the consequences tomorrow!

Tip 7 – Explaining an anti Candida diet;
Many people feel awkward or embarrassed by being on an anti Candida diet and find it tough to justify to others what they are doing.
The best way around this is just to say that you are on a detox diet and let the conversation go from there.

If people want to know why, then just shift the blame onto your doctor, naturopath, nutritionist, psychic or anyone else who sounds like they might know what to do.
