in a case if a woman has candida yeast infection, should her partner be tested/treated too? or is it woman-specific disease which is not transmitted sexually?

  1. KELLEY says:

A yeast infection CAN be transmitted to a man if his partner has one and they are having unprotected ***. It is not really a STD. Yeast infections can usually be treated with antibiotics.

  2. versantly says:

both partners need to be treated. use condoms.

  3. donna D says:

Yes! Your OBGYN will tell you that if a woman is to be treated , it is a excellent thought for her partner to be treated as well.
She can clear up, but if not using protection, you can transmit it back to her again.
Most men never show signs of having it. never ending circle.
I purpose calling a local Gyn and question for directions or info. A excellent place to find out is on the web.

Sorry, Kelley, that is incorrect. Antibiotics do NOT kill a yeast infection. (Strong ones cause yeast) Diflucan (oral) is a excellent antifungal that I am familiar with. There are several over the counter antifungals but HE will need the tablets. YES you both will need to be treated and drink plenty of water. If NOT you will both be playing yeast tag. Excellent luck to you.
