Hey ladies, I’m looking for some “home” remedies (meaning non prescriptive) for yeast infections. I’ve tried Monistat, Diflucan and some sort of prescribed topical creams, but I’ve been battling yeast infections for years and I’d rather not have to see the dr. every time I get one. So I wanna know what YOU do to cure your yeast infections.

And please, I’m tired of people answering without reading first. I want a cure that does NOT require a visit to my doctor.

Thanks!

Try plain yoghurt on a tampon. My sis is a nurse and it works.

Have you tryed to cut back on white foods?
What about getting some KEFLEX this generally clears up anything minor. This is just an antibiotic.

Hey I had the same problem. I used yogurt. Buy plain yogurt that contains live cultures. Eat it but also place it inside. You can soak a tampon with yogurt or you can buy a baby medicine dropper at the drug section at a supermarket and use it to insert the yogurt like you would regular creams. Yogurt works because it contains active bacteria that naturally live inside you. A yeast infection happens when the yeast overtake the bacteria, so to speak. I applied yogurt every night for a week and then twice a week for several weeks after that since I had chronic infections for months. Always eat at least a half cup of yogurt every day. Now I still eat yogurt and apply it if there’s the slightest sign of yeast. Some women also use vinegar and water ****** (without the fragrance, this is crucial) once a week. You shouldn’t ****** more than twice a week though so it isn’t very effective for fighting off the yeast at first but can be used afterwards to keep yeast from coming back. Since yeast live in a high pH environment and bacteria (like in yogurt) and vinegar are low pH, the bacteria and vinegar can help combat the yeast.

I have the same problem and what I do is I take a vinegar bath. I soak for about 20 minutes once a day when the infection starts and it is usually gone by the 3rd day. I have tried all kinds of over the counter and prescription treatments and this is much cheaper and seems to work better for me.

When i get them nothing helps except prescription cream.
I have them a couple of times a year because of yeast (candida) overgrowth in body. What i do is get Yeast Clease (Candida killer) once in a while, eliminate all yeast feeding foods from diet (e.g. wheat products, sugar, fructose etc) and I also feel a lot better and my body accepts foods better and dont have yeast infections as often.
